Why do handguns and sniper rifles take longer to ship to the USA?

We try to strike a balance between price and service quality, and we feel that the general consensus among customers is that they would rather have a better price rather than instant delivery. The drawback to this is that high demand makes it impossible to ship them out within 24 hours of the order. Customers can expect a wait of approximately 2 days to prepare the gun which requires painting the tip orange and trademarks removal. If you need your hand gun fast, email us at sales@hobbyasia.com to see what we can do to help you out.

How do I get started with airsoft?

Airsoft is a team game which simulates tactical "wargames". For those of you who grew up playing video games in the 90s, a quick explanation would be airsoft is like a real life game of counter strike! Typically all you need is an airsoft rifle, AEG or Automatic Electric Gun. These guns look very similar to their real life counter parts such as H&K's MP5 or Colt's M16 series and are usually the first thing a new airsofter will get. Accessories you need to begin playing is a battery to power the gun and BB pellets. We only sell the best AEGs at Hobby Asia, and those are from Tokyo Marui which is the largest Japanese Manufacturer of AEGs.

Is airsoft legal in my country?

Airsoft is not legal everywhere, and if you are unsure, please contact us or check with your local authorities first. If it is feasible we will do all the necessary modifications in order to allow your gun to reach its destination. For countries like England and France we can ship airsoft guns to them with absolutely no modifications or restrictions.

In the United states, all guns must have an orange barrel tip. This is a mandatory procedure and any airsoft guns shipped to the US will automatically have this modifcation performed. In addition, all trademarks on the box will be removed in order to avoid copy protection disputes.

We usually do not ship to Canada since airsoft is in the grey area of the law, however if you insist we can arrange for it but the user must be ready to accept the consequences of confiscation. Email us to inquire about shipping to Canada.

What is a Hi-Cap magazine?

A standard magazine can hold from 40 all the way up to 80 BBs. However Tokyo-Marui has also manufactured high-capacity magazines which are known as Hi-caps. These magazines can hold anywhere from 200 to 600 rounds of BB pellets. Half of the magazine is used purely to hold the BBs while a wheel at the bottom of the magazine is manually rotated to draw BBs up into the "ready" tube. BBs in the ready tube will be drawn into the gun when fired. Usually a Hi-cap will make more noise when you move around because the BBs inside will bounce around and the user will need to spin the wheel occasionally to ensure enough BBs are drawn up to be fired. Standard magazines by comparison hold alot less and you may need 2 or 3 to last you through a game but they make no noise. For the cost conscious or airsoft player who doesn't like reloading the hi-cap magazine is the definitive choice.
